Rhiannon Newton is an Australian contemporary dancer and choreographer based in Sydney. Her practice concentrates on the relationship between the live-ness of dance and processes of repetition.
Her choreographies have been presented at the Judson Church (USA), Dancehouse, Dance Massive Festival, Nagib On Stage (SL), Brisbane Festival, Metro Arts, Strut Dance and the PACT Centre for Emerging Artists. Rhiannon has developed her practice in artist residencies throughout Australia, Europe and the USA, such as Critical Path, Tanzhaus Zurich (CH), DirtyFeet, Movement Research (USA), PAF (FR) and Dancehouse.
She has been a part of international forums such as the Australian Eastern European Choreographic Exchange, the Avignon Festival Seminar and the Swiss Australian Reciprocal Residency Program. Rhiannon has worked with Rosalind Crisp, Martin Del Amo, Mette Edvardsen (NOR/BE), Brooke Stamp, Paea Leach, Mala Kline (CR), Angela Goh, Jo Pollitt, Company Upstairs, Aimee Smith, Buzz Dance Theatre, Alexandra Harrison, Chrissie Parrott and Jan Fabre (BE).
